What does a typical day in the life of an HR Associate look like?

No two days in HR are the same, which is one the reasons I enjoy it. But a big portion of my week is usually spent on recruiting and then also employee support, payroll, benefits and compliance.

What three skills do you think are essential to fulfil your role?

Organization, communication & adaptability/flexibility

Why did you choose WBD and what makes you stay?

The People. Everyone is so great and can tell everyone is very passionate about what they do. I also love it’s a growing company, I think it’s a very exciting time to be part of WBD!

How do you see your career path developing in the future?

As we continue to grow and integrate with CNI, I’m looking forward to enhancing our HR processes.

What do you do outside of work? What inspires you?

I’m very close with my family so spend lots of time with them as well as my friends and fur nieces/nephews (huge dog lover). I’m also a huge foodie and love checking out the new restaurants/breweries around me!

Who has been your most influential professional mentor?

One of my previous managers who is a seasoned HR executive. Their guidance and insights have been invaluable in shaping my approach to HR practices and strategies. I’ve learned a great deal from their extensive experience in areas such as employee relations, leadership development, and organizational culture.

What advice do you have for those looking to become HR associates?

Becoming an HR professional is a journey that involves continuous learning and growth. The more you invest in your education, skills development, and professional network, the more you’ll be prepared to thrive in the diverse and evolving world of HR.
