WBD Employee Spotlight: Jessica Lewis

April 15, 2021

Meet Jessica Lewis, a WBD Lead Consultant who joined the firm in early 2021. She is the Corporate Relationship Management (CRM) lead for WBD, currently leading the CRM activity for the USAID’s Private Sector Engagement (PSE) Hub within the Bureau of Development, Democracy, and Innovation (DDI).

In this role, Jessica supports our efforts to build an agency-wide digital CRM platform that seeks to track workflows, reduce redundancies, enhance security, and enable real-time reporting for Private Sector Engagement. In collaboration with other consultants on the project, Jessica is excited to contribute her expertise in CRM systems to help make an impact in international development and resource management across the world.

Jessica worked across a variety of different industries including news/media, higher education, and advertising – always within database consulting, before joining WBD. “I love helping organizations develop more efficient data-capture processes and improve communications, both internally and externally,” she said about her interests,  “this project excites me because we get to build this system from the ground up and craft something that will benefit many people in different ways with measurable outcomes. It’s a rare opportunity.”

Jessica was drawn to WBD because of the founders’ mentality of taking the lessons learned at other organizations of what they did and didn’t want for their own business.“WBD is a place where I can not only use my current skills, but I can learn new ones and grow in ways I never thought possible. I’m excited to work for an organization who has invested so much time into my professional development and allowed me to challenge myself, it’s definitely an energy you can feel from employees.”

Aside from the USAID PSE contract, Jessica hopes to consult on other CRM related work for WBD. She has already helped by scoping another CRM for one of USAID’s Missions, contributing to business development efforts, and by writing several thought leadership pieces for the firm. She loves that WBD offers her opportunities to participate in projects outside of her typical daily tasks to strengthen her skillset.

Jessica lives in Baltimore but is a proud East Carolina University graduate, with a BFA in Animation/Interactive Design and a BS in Economics. She also recently completed her MBA at Walden University.

When she’s not working, you can usually find Jessica doing something outdoors like hiking, kayaking, white water rafting, playing soccer, or training for half marathons. She also loves playing with her Australian Shepherd, “Kudos,” who recently earned his AKC Trick Dog Novice title.

At WBD, our people make us great.
